As I washed dishes tonight, Gavin was busily emptying a toy shopping basket. As soon as it was empty, he turned to me and said,
"This basket is desolate."
You know, because desolate means empty (as in, "the land of such-and-such shall be laid desolate" in a loose quote from Isaiah).
Any questions?

Ha! THat is funny.
Uh, maybe our kids should attend your family's scripture study- you seem to get so much more out of it. Or it just might be that your kid is super-smart!
I find it interesting even with my own kids that when they learn a new word, usually a large or different word, they know exactly where to use it in a sentance. Also, are you seriously reading Isaiah as your family scripture reading?!
